Dr. John A.P. Rimmer

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

Just a short note to say thank you again for taking such good care of me and saving my life.  I am lucky to find you.  Nothing personal, but I hope I do not have to see you soon.  OK maybe in a restaurant.

Thank you again.  Your loyal patient and friend,

KC

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

Just a note to say thank you for giving Mike a second change to experience life outside the hospital.  Because you were the voice of reason, he has had the opportunity to visit his friends & family and is now content with his decision to have additional surgery.  I never realized how much of a difference one person could make just by listening, but you did.  Yet, after reading the article on your waiting room wall about the twin brother and his off-handed comment, I realized that because you listen, you’ve made a difference in a lot of lives.

So, on behalf of the countless people that you’ve helped; but most importantly, Mike, thank you for all the second changes.

Sincerely,
GP

Dr. Rimmer,

Just wanted to share a few thought…

Surgeons are the “TOP GUNS” of medicine and they know it.  They have a distinctive(well-deserved) swagger that drives patients crazy, because most remain so aloof.

You, on the other hand, are not only a great surgeon, but - were importantly, for patients – an extraordinary person.

You have No idea how much it means when you take the time to call someone at home after an operation.

In the mist of modern medicine’s HMO forced chaos, you’re like an oasis in the desert.  Your calming, gentle, and concerned demeanor elevates you head and shoulders above most of your peers.  Unfortunately, most doctors somehow forget their patients’ hearts while they’re fixing the rest of their body.

I truly feel blessed that our paths have crossed, and as I head into the final years of my life it is comforting to have your phone number in my book.

BM

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.  Your calm compassionate approach made all of the difference.  I really appreciated all your calls too.  I believe you did an excellent job on my surgery and I am ready to tackle this foe.

Thanks again and keep up the good work – you truly have a gift.

KH

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

The past thirteen months have been both difficult and wonderful.  You told me many very hard things but your kindness and gentleness made it possible for me to accept and deal with the cancer and treatment.  You have been there to encourage me every step of the way.  You made me face reality in October when I was trying to deny a new lump.  For all these things and more, you have my gratitude.

You told me that Stage 3 was just a number and that I could give up or not worry about it.  I have chosen to ignore the number as much as possible and live as though it was Stage 1.  I have told others that their numbers in cancer or end-stage renal failure refer to studies concerning thousands of people and don’t necessarily have anything to do with them, as some people defy the statistics.

Your office stag and most of the caregivers that I met have been wonderful.  Going for treatment, tests, and surgery has allowed me to meet many people who genuinely care about the patients.  It helps a lot when you are going through such a painful time.

Thank you for your support, encouragement, and kindness.

Merry Christmas, Love,
H

Dr. John Rimmer,

Thanks seems a small word for the kindness and compassion you have shown all along the way with a scary situation.  You are a very special doctor and man.

Thank you,
RR

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

A very special thank-you to you and your staff for making my medical procedures so stress-free.  You and your staff were always so caring and considerate to my medical needs.

I know a lot of great doctors, but you Dr. Rimmer, without question are at the top of my list.  Not just foe being a great professional but for being a genuine person with excellent character.

With sincere thanks,
SD

Dr. Rimmer,

Thank you for your care and consideration on my behalf.  Thanks to you, I was able to complete my radiation treatment in March and am able to go north next month cancer-free!  (I hope!)

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

Sometimes life is all about the timing.  You came into my life at the very moment I needed you most.  Sometimes we don't get the answers we want, but we get an answer, and you gave me the greatest gift of an answer to my problems.  For that I’ll always be grateful to you.

Thank you for everything and I'll always remember your honesty and comfort.

Always,
SCL

P.S.  Please express my thanks to your wife for the wonderful care she gave to me as well. “I'm a big girl now”.

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

I don't know how all you're other patients feel, but since we first met with you about Evan’s surgery, you have this calming affect that made me feel that everything was going to be all right.  You took my fear away.  As a parent of an only child, that is the world!  Thank you so much for being such a wonderful surgeon, and a wonderfully kind person.  When they made you they broke the mold!!  A lot of doctors in this town could learn by your example!

Your Big Fans,
EL & CK

Dr. Rimmer & Staff,

Each one of you has been so nice & comforting to me during this stressful time.  Your professionalism & skill speak for themselves, but the words of confidence in dealing with the disease gave me the security that brought me to this point.  I am so grateful to all of you.  You’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

With sincere gratitude, fondly,
JB

Dear Dr. Rimmer,

Words cannot express how grateful I am that you are my surgeon.  I appreciate your caring and understanding and all of your input to every question I had.  You are truly a gifted and talented person and I know our paths crossed for a reason.  Knowing so many people in the area and in the breast cancer community, I have yet to have a single person say anything but great things about you.  Wow!

Thank you again for doing the surgery so quickly and doing such a great job.  I am eternally grateful.

Sincerely,
DE

Dr. Rimmer,

Your personality and sense of humor show through your professional façade, which helps reduce patient anxiety and gives the patient comfort.  Equally important, is that you tell the what you are going to do, and what they are going to experience, before you do it.  When you say, “I’m going to pour something and it is going to feel hot” and it actually feels the way you described, it elevates the patients’ confidence that you know what you are doing.  This is any outstanding characteristic.  Equally important is that you have a gentle touch that helps you to “connect” with the patient.  A soft pat on the shoulder or back at the completion of the procedure helps personalize the doctor-patient experience.  It is comforting and is viewed very favorably from the recipients’ perspective.  Lastly, you come across as a “regular guy”, not some intellectual egghead with the people skills of an ant.  This facilitates a feeling that you are someone who is very competent and can be trusted.  The patient feels like he is a person, not just a body on a medical conveyor belt.  Bottom line, you get an “A+” and should view yourself as being within the top 2% relative to your peer group in professionalism and bedside manner.

Overall Experience:  As expected, although the entire situation was a bit anxiety provoking, you and your staff made it a very tolerable experience.  I complement you for assembling a thoughtful, caring staff, which obviously shares you commitment to providing exceptional health care in a pleasant environment.  You run an “A+” practice.

Recommendations:  In this section, I normally have a laundry list of things to be considered to improve the operation, its patient perception, or quality of care.  I am very pleased to say there is absolutely nothing I could recommend that would add any value to the way you run your practice or treat your patients.  You are truly a rare find in today’s medical profession.

Good Job!

Warmest personal regards,
WW

Dear Dr. Rimmer:

I want to express my appreciation to you for your excellent hernia operation on me as well as your thoughtful postoperative follow-up.

Combined with the cordiality of your consultation, your professional expertise is truly outstanding.

You have my open recommendation to anyone in need of the best in your specialty.

Sincerely,
LW

To: Jupiter Outpatient Surgery Center and Staff

I recently had two hernia repairs performed by Dr. Rimmer and am writing a brief note of commendation.

I am a local Real Estate business owner whose time is valuable.  Dr. Rimmer accommodated my schedule and listened carefully and compassionately to my concerns.  I have never encountered such professionalism.  The consensus is he is also a brilliant surgeon.

Thanks to all at the Jupiter Outpatient Surgery stag who made an imminent surgery and recovery as pleasant as possible.  Once again, these professionals went above the call of duty.

Hopefully, this memo will be forwarded to all associated with Dr. Rimmer and the staff at the Jupiter Outpatient Surgery Center.

Sincerely,
EK

A Wonderful Combination - "KNOWLEDGE & A BEDSIDE MANNER"

No one wants to hear that they have cancer, however, once you collect your thoughts and emotions, you must deal with the inevitable.

Dr. Rimmer and his caring staff made a difficult situation as easy aspossible. Dr. Rimmer speaks to you in terms that you can understand and answers all your questions to your satisfaction.

As a surgeon, he is skillful and considerate, not only of your needs, but the needs of those who care about you enough to be by your side.

Thank you Dr. Rimmer and your entire staff for all that you have done for me, and for all those who have needed you at such a critical time in their lives.

Gratefully,
Cheryl & Bob Burghardt & family
Phoenixville, PA,

Dear Dr. Rimmer

When the result of the biopsy at the Jupiter Women's Center was delivered to me confirming breast cancer, I, like so many other women in that position was shocked and confused. The doctor who performed the biopsy called my primary care physician requesting the necessary referral to Dr. John Rimmer. Although I was not familiar with your name that soon changed. From then on, my husband George and I heard so many admiring comments about you that George said; "Dr. Rimmer is either truly outstanding, or he has a fantastic public relations firm".

You were on vacation and my appointment was set by your office three weeks ahead. That would have been a torturous wait had I not been assured repeatedly that "Dr. Rimmer is the best".

At my first appointment you instilled immediate confidence in both George and me. The morning of the surgery I entered the operating room singing Let's Get This Party Started. I woke after surgery to your gentle explanation that the surgery was more extensive then originally planned. Pathology required more tissue and nodes be removed. I knew that you did what was best for me and thankful to have that awful stuff out of my body.

After 4 hours of surgery and rest in post-op I comfortably went home the same day as you knew I would be able. The next day I resumed seeing students in my private voice studio and have maintained my regular schedule of over 30 students per week since.

The incisions are clean and neat. Though not a concern, I was amazed to see that the areas you operated on show no signs of internal tissue removal. The breast you operated on matches the healthy breast and both are symmetrical (as much as a woman my age can expect). I still don't know how you managed that. I have been in contact with many women who have had similar surgery by other surgeons. They are shocked to know that there was neither a post-op drain or dressing to change, and the after surgery pain was minimal.

Please thank your exceptional staff for me for their sensitivity and professionalism and most of all, thank you. George and I agree that you have earned and deserve the reputation of "truly outstanding' and "the best'!

Beyond compliments and accolades you deserve the prayers of all of us who have now and will benefit in the future from you healing hands, heart and spirit.

George and I hold you in our daily prayers of appreciation and gratitude. You are one of God's blessings and I will always sing your praises.

Blessings,
Carol A. Belcher
