Digital Mammograms

Performed for women who have a history of breast disease or who are experiencing new symptoms. It is also used when the radiologist sees an abnormality on a screening mammogram. More pictures are taken to carefully study the breast condition. In most cases, special images involve magnification to make a small area of suspicious breast tissue easier to evaluate. Many others types of x-ray pictures can be obtained, depending on the type of problem and its location in the breast. These x-rays are tailored to meet patient needs.

Breast Ultrasound

A breast ultrasound is a noninvasive tool used to determine an abnormality in breast tissue. It can also be used to determine whether a mass is solid or cystic. Ultrasound uses sound waves not radiation.

Breast PET Mammorgraphy

The application of high-resolution PET technology to isolated immobilized breast producing tomographic images of lesions with a resolution down to 1.6mm.

Tomosynthesis or 3D Mammograms

The Selenia® Dimensions® 3D digital mammography system from Hologic offers the next level in breast imaging -  a breakthrough technology poised to revolutionize how breast cancer is detected today.

Breast MRI

Goes above and beyond conventional breast imaging, often providing solutions to tough, diagnostic problems and identifying breast tumors that other exams would fail to detect. Breast MRI's are usually performed when your doctor needs more information than a mammogram, ultrasound or clinical breast exam sometimes can provide. In certain situations, such as when a woman has a very high risk of breast cancer, a Breast MRI may be used as a screening tool for detecting breast cancer.

BRCA Testing

BRCA Analysis does not tell you whether you have cancer, but detects mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. These are the gene mutations that are responsible for the vast majority of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Only a small blood or oral rinse sample is taken for analysis.
